The Keys to Publishing Contest

UPDATE – What a great contest this has been. With the final key published (no pun intended) we have been flooded with entries. The winners have been selected, and we will be in touch with them very soon. We hope everyone found this contest both useful and fun. We sure did.

Adventures in Scifi Publishing is teaming up with I Should be Writing to bring you the “Keys to Publishing” contest. Running all summer long, the contest will feature authors Tobias S. Buckell, Kay Kenyon, Jay Lake, David Louis Edelman, Brenda Cooper, Sean Williams, and perhaps a surprise author or two.

These professional writers will bring you some of the essential keys necessary in succeeding as a professional author. Tor and Pyr SF are cosponsoring the contest with book giveaways featuring some of the summer’s hottest new titles.

To enter the contest, simply listen for the six keys on Adventures in Scifi Publishing and I Should be Writing. Write down the title of each key, and when the last key is given, email all six keys with “Keys” in the subject line. That’s all you have to do. There will be at least two winners!

We hope you have fun with the contest and that it helps you fulfill your dreams of becoming a professionally published author.

Now check out the titles being offered by Pyr SF:

Tor is also giving away some wonderful titles. Check it out:

  1. I heard #2 on ISBW… did I miss one?! If I did… you’re sneaky!

  2. Shaun Farrell says

It will be in EP 56!

  3. Thank you, Shaun and Brenda Cooper!

As an aspiring writer with a current forty-hour-a-week career (sometimes more) and family, including two small children, it was inspiring to hear your key in this past episode. I’m just glad real examples, such as Brenda, exist.

    Thanks for sharing, Shaun.

  4. Shawn and Mur – Thanks for the books. I was looking at picking up something non-Star Wars by Sean Williams.
