AISFP 79 – James Enge

James Enge, author of the excellent Blood of Ambrose, joins us to discuss Leiber vs. Tolkein fantasy, massive fantasy epics, and his beef with H.G. Wells. Did you read my review of Blood of Ambrose?

  1. Short Stories.
I used to read Asimovs, Analog, F&SF, Interzone, SF Age, Eidolon and Aurealis but I don’t seem to have much time to read the mags and books these days. More’s the pity. I do love SF short stories though and still pick up the odd collection (Year’s best type anthologies, Writers of the Future etc). I listen to Escapepod, Podcastle & Psuedopod weekly for my fix of SF, fantasy and horror short works.

  2. Shaun Farrell says

Time is issue for me, too. Hard to keep with magazines AND novels, and there are so many good novels on the shelves. Pyr alone keeps me busy!
