Great Interview Shaun. I really liked how you got Brent’s wife involved too. Looks like if I want to meet Brent I will need to head over to Orlando… shame he’s not coming to Tampa 🙁 I am sending your info to my sister-in-law about the contest since she is a graphic designer…maybe she can help you out on that front.

  2. Great episode! I really enjoyed that interview. Unplanned and wonderful. I’m so glad the show is revving up again to a more regular release schedule. Awesome!!!

  3. Shaun Farrell says

It was great having Kristi there. I need to work that out more often to get the spouse’s perspective. Thanks for continuing to listen, Dan!

  4. Robert Mateo says

Great to have my favorite podcast back.

Let us know the details of what kind of artwork you are looking for. Entire web page layout or just artwork? And if just artwork, what dimensions? Stuff like that.

Good job, as always. Enjoyed AISFW 2.0 . . . except maybe the music. I much prefer the original; it was dynamic, memorable, and iconic to the show.

The new music has a certain Barry White quality to it, with a touch of Jazz thrown in for . . . well, I don’t know what for. Mind you, it was not awful, but neither was it memorable, and I don’t think it will become as iconic as the original.

Not a make-or-brake deal for me, but figure you might want the feedback.

And yes, I know with the advent of 2.0 you needed a new promo, but I would suggest going back to the original music once you have enough material to cut a new promo. After all, while it is 2.0, it’s nice to offer listeners a bridge to the amazing body of work that are the episodes leading up to AISFP 2.0.

Just my opinion. I’m sure others will disagree . . . mostly Jazz lovers and people who still believe in the power of Barry White music to put people in the mood for reading science fiction and fantasy.

    . . . uh . . . that should read “not a make-or-break” . . .

  7. Robert Mateo says

I agree about the music. It was edgy. It had a more scifi feel. What was the name of the band??? Dirt???

  8. Shaun Farrell says

I’ve never listend to Barry White. The old music was Cargo Cult.

I remember when Mur Lafferty changed the music for ISBW, and I was like, “What the hell! That’s not I Should be Writing.” Soon, I forgot what the old music sounded like, and now I have no clue. She just changed it again, and this time I wasn’t thrown at all, perhaps because it had happened before.

  9. Long time listener, first time commenter.

I’m so happy you’ve found your way back to the podcast and brought in some people to help you. I listened to almost all of the original episodes and really enjoy your straight-forward take on speculative fiction and it’s practitioners. Thank you for those and I hope you can continue to produce more in the future.

I figure with trying to put this all back together in a new way, you might need some encouragement.

    Long live AISFP.

    -Ben
