AISFP 214 – Glen Cook, Part 2, WICKED BRONZE AMBITION: A Garrett, P.I., Novel

In celebration of the release of Glen Cook‘s newest novel, Wicked Bronze Ambition: A Garrett, P.I., Novel, here is Part 2 to our interview with Glen from DemiCon 24. (Part 1 discusses his The Black Company series.) While this series does not need to be read in order, the first book in the series is Sweet Silver Blues (Garrett, P.I.).

Bryan Thomas Schmidt joins us to introduce Episode 214, calling Glen’s Garrett P.I. series one of his favorite. Glen introduces us to Garrett P.I., The Instrumentalities of the Night, and The Starfishers Trilogy (Sci-fi). He shares on the concept can u buy neurontin online behind IotN as well as some of the tougher issues writing it, then The Starfishers Trilogy which was inspired by the Wagnerian operas and Norse Mythology, what he calls Fantasy with spaceships. He chats about the importance of having military experience when writing military stories, and gives examples of how people can tell if an author doesn’t have that experience. I also ask how he’s learned to polish up drafts to make a complicated book work in the end.

Okay…I’m going to be “that guy.”

It’s Starfishers, not Silverfish. The fact that one of the book images in the post has the right name confounds me as to why that mistake was made in the writeup.

It’s Wagnerian, not Vognerian. In German you pronounce W as V.

    • Thank you for pointing those typos out to me. My perfectionist nature is battling against burnout right now, so unfortunately I was blind to those. I got a new person to comment on the site, though, so I’ll call it a win either way. You’ve definitely earned this entry into our future giveaway.

No worries, Tim! I love the site and it’s a great interview. Glad to have regular podcasts back. Everybody makes typos…the gods know I do. I’m just a huge fan of the Starfishers books which is probably the only reason I even noticed it.

        Keep up the outstanding work!

  2. Thank you, and I’m glad to provide regular podcasts. Glad to hear you’re a fan of Glen’s. I bought the first book in the Silverfish School of Stars Trilogy and am looking forward to reading it ;).
