Book Giveaway: Breach Zone by Myke Cole

Breach Zone by Myke Cole

The Great Reawakening did not come quietly. Across the country and in every nation, people began “coming up Latent,” developing terrifying powers—summoning storms, raising the dead, and setting everything they touch ablaze. Those who Manifest must choose: become a sheepdog who protects the flock or a wolf who devours it…
In the wake of a bloody battle at Forward Operating Base Frontier and a scandalous presidential impeachment, Lieutenant Colonel Jan Thorsson, call sign “Harlequin,” becomes a national hero and a pariah to the military that is the only family he’s ever known.

In the fight for Latent equality, Oscar Britton is positioned to lead a rebellion in exile, but a powerful rival beats him to the punch: Scylla, a walking weapon who will stop at nothing to end the human-sanctioned apartheid against her kind.

When Scylla’s inhuman forces invade New York City, the Supernatural Operations Corps are the only soldiers equipped to prevent a massacre. In order to redeem himself with the military, Harlequin will be forced to face off with this havoc-wreaking woman from his past, warped by her power into something evil…

Shadow Ops: Breach Zone is the third book in Myke Cole’s Shadow Ops trilogy. The first two books are Control Point and Fortress Frontier. I’m sorry we weren’t able to get Myke on the podcast to discuss this book. Myke was recently on one of my favorite podcasts, Speculate!, and you can listen to Myke discuss Breach Zone on their show. I thought there was another, you can listen to Myke on the Skiffy and Fanty podcast also.

  1. I was a little hesitant giving the mixed reviews of the first book, but the second and now final book in the trilogy are getting so much praise that I’m really wanting to read them all. The author has also been really fun to listen to on various podcasts and to read on various interview sites. He is doing a really nice job of getting himself out there in a way that makes me want to support him.

  2. Tim ward says:

I agree with all that. With my duties here, It’s really difficult for me to read older books, so I may just jump in on his next series, or go the audiobook route to read this one. I’d like to say every other month or book will go toward an older book, but then I get six new books in the mail that I want to read and could try and schedule a podcast or whatever around.

    • I know what you mean. I am still buying more books every month than I could realistically read, not to mention the occasional books I get in the mail for review that are enticing.

  3. I have yet to read a Myke Cole novel, but this series sounds like it would be one of the more palatable military spec-fic series around.

  4. Phillip Carroll says:

I haven’t read any of Myke Cole’s books but they look very interesting. Of course if I were to win the book I’d be morally obligated to get the first two!

  5. sherry butcher says:

Never read but will start with Myke Coles books. This is a great way to enter for copies of the books. TFS.
